Shipping Nightmare

I have been trying to ship a Christmas gift to my dad in Florida since December 9th.  I never figured that shipping from Kohls.com would be such a hassle.  I have been on the phone three times tonight with Kohls customer service trying to get things right.  Now I'll be lucky to get it there by the end of the month, by the end of the year.  While the people helping me on the phone were doing their best to get the order taken care of, it's still frustrating.  The gift is still not there yet.

I'm not the only one having challenges.  UPS has been getting some bad press about being behind, but these same recent articles talk about other retailers like Wal-Mart and Amazon.com along with Kohls being blindsided by a late surge in web buying.  Really?  You didn't see Christmas coming?  Shippers like UPS and FedEx can't help a retailer that's not ready.            

Just an example that web retailing is not fully ready for prime time yet.

  2. That's what makes delays like the one you had so lame -- it's as if they did not see the high-volume Christmas season coming.
